Spring Bedding Planting again 22 October 2015

This week we have been busy thinking about our working day with Rothwell Juniors and keeping in contact with officers at Leeds City Council as regards our working at Manor Road garden. On Thursday morning however, it was the first morning of planting for the spring. Frances & I went went to Mollies house and  collected some pansies, primula, polyanthus, and lobelia and took some to Gillett Bridge where Peter & Margaret were ready to receive them.

Then it was on to Margaret's Garden where more plants were unloaded and taken across to the Traffic Light Planter where I found Frances & Mary ready to plant out this large wooded planter.
Soon it was planted out,
and we were ready to move onto Margaret's Garden, where Peter & Margaret had moved onto also having completed the planting at Gillett Bridge.
The plants were placed in position on the wall the surrounding this planter-the penstemons were still in full flower.
Work soon started and the new bedding planted quite quickly.

During coffee break we discussed the next week's planting plans. It was decided that we would purchase some more daffodil bulbs for both the flower beds we were going to make and in the planters that we had just planted. Members were also informed of plans for that day. Then it was back to Mollie's house for some more plants-this time just polyanthus for the Royd's Court Petal Planters.
At Royd's Court we all gathered again, refreshed after our break, collected all the plants, placed them on top of the beds and started to plant up these petal planters.

It wasn't long before all the polyanthus were planted in the planters, 6 petals, a bottom section of the central structure too.

What a good morning's work, now to plan for next week.
